The PAS-series of linear 4-quadrant ac power amplifiers are available either individually - as basic, stand-alone, single-phase equipments - or as part of a complete test system.

Applications for PAS-series varies widely, from use as a simple frequency converter through to complex poly-phase mains simulation systems capable of simulating complex transient events on the National mains electricity distriibution grid, through to the simulation of the AC & DC power grids found on the latest commercial and military aircraft.

A complete range of equipment is available to support the amplifiers including the SyCore system controller - a programmable arbitrary waveform generator system which can be configured with between 1 and 12 output channels for complex system control - and the ARS 16, a family of combined Harmonic Analyser & Flickermeter measurement equipment to permit measurements to be made in compliance with the requirements of the European EMC directive (See the link on our homepage for more deatiled information).
Features of the PAS-series

  • Extremely low harmonic distortion even under very non-linear load conditions
  • Very fast slew-rate > 52V/µs (rise time < 5µs to 230Vrms as required by EN 61000-4-11)

  • Operates from DC up to rated frequency - can be used for AC and DC power simulation applications
  • High long-term overload characteristic (up to 1-hour) whilst still meeting all published operating specifications
  • Very high short-term overload characteristic (up to 10 mins.) whilst still meeting all published operating specifications
  • Flexible design to fulfil 'customer specific' applications - different output voltages, higher frequency range etc
  • Suitable for operation with Inductive & Capacitive loads
