High Voltage Capacitor Charging Power Supplies
Up To > 65 kV / 20 kJ/s

The HCK series of High Voltage Capacitor Charging Power Supplies are a range of power supplies designed specifically for this application.
In the HCK series, the rectified line voltage drives a square wave oscillator whos fixed frequency output is pulse-width-modulated to prvide the necessary regulation. The output of this oscillator is transformed, rectified and smoothed to provide the high voltage output.

Features of the HCK series

  • Charging voltages from 2 kV up to 65 kV (higher on request)
  • Charging energies from 100 J/s up to 20 kJ/s (higher on request)
  • Efficiency approx. 90%
  • Charging voltage continuously adjustable
  • Charging with adjustable continuous current, without any overshoot
  • Suitable for continuous or compensation charging applications
  • No external protection resistor required
  • Permanent short-circuit proof
  • Pre-selection of the charging voltage via digital display
  • Charging is either continuous or controlled via a potential-free input
  • End of charge signal at completion of charge (visual & electrical)
  • The nominal current can be permanently supplied at the maximum voltage

A number of options are available for the HCK series, including:

  • Polarity reversal
  • Faster repetition frequencies
  • Dump switch (for the output and the load)
  • Built-in or external discharge circuit for pulse operation
  • Further options on request
